Using any combination of media has become a conduit for the things I want to express.

The sewing machine ,the scanner and printer, knitting needles and tjenting tool  have all helped me work towards meaning in a similar way  as a notebook and computer are for a novelist. I attempt to distil my experience and express it with the sense and feeling of storytelling within my textile work.

A Cuban philosopher said that Artists are counter-revolutionaries because dictators cannot govern the terrain of Beauty.

This sensibility has influenced me a great deal.

An added level of complexity in my recent pieces has been a commitment to using the technical, computer-based side of my repertoire to demonstrate the strengths of sewing machine software. How to integrate and combine its special features with other media has been an enormous challenge. The discourse between the materials, my efforts and the person who may choose to gaze on the finished cloth keeps me at work.
